You probably already know that the differential of the Construct IN platform is to provide remote monitoring through 360° images. In the post 3 steps to start remote project management we explain a little about how the project setup process is done and how the captures of the construction environments are performed with 360° cameras.

If you still have any questions, stay tuned to this post so you can understand the real gains that image capture technology can bring to construction processes. We will show how this Construct IN tool can optimize the monitoring of your construction in a simple and quick way.

About the technology

With technological advancement, the possibilities of capturing images, recording moments, or documenting some history have been optimized, bringing more and more quality and agility to processes.

In addition, due to the development of capture technologies, they have begun to be used as means of information, history, and, primarily, for professional purposes, becoming essential to expand the possibilities of action and improvement across various sectors of the market, including construction.

Some tools such as drones, 3D laser scanners, 360° cameras, augmented reality, and others capable of capturing reality,  digitizing, and generating data have been widely used to intensify work on construction sites, facilitating visualization and documentation of execution stages.

This shows that when we think about capturing images for the construction sector, the expectations can go far beyond photographs taken with traditional cameras. This is the case with Construct IN, which uses 360° cameras to generate a better and more productive experience.

Next, you will understand the advantages and how it is very simple to capture 360° images with the platform.

360° Image Capture on the construction sites

The capture technology is among the main features of Construct IN, ensuring practicality and efficiency when executing the process.

To start the capture, the first step is to download the project that will be captured within Construct IN Capture, or as we like to call it: just Capture. Although not a mandatory step, this greatly speeds things up since, generally, there is no Internet connection at the capture locations.

Next, just connect the compatible 360° camera to the smartphone via wifi, which makes the connection quick and easy. With the equipment connected, it’s time to walk around the site to capture images at pre-defined points, which can be done without needing to be connected to any Internet network.

It is also important to remember that if it is necessary to add new points during the capture, it is also possible to add them directly through Capture.

After the capture is completed, just disconnect the camera and send the files  directly from the app to the Construct IN platform system, where they are stored in an organized manner. In this process, it is recommended that the image uploads are done with a wi-fi connection, but nothing prevents it from being done with a 4G network.

Finally, all records are available on the platform, allowing all project agents to access the captured images of the site. This is nothing more than the capture technology, along with other systems and functionalities, providing a new way to conduct remote project management.

Advantages of 360° technology in construction

In summary, we have seen that you only need a smartphone, a camera, and a few minutes of your day to have the construction site digitized. And that’s where the great advantage of Construct IN lies with the application of capture technology, as it guarantees excellent results in a very agile manner, being able to document up to 350 m² in just 5 minutes.

The method used in Construct IN allows for easy access to records and a much greater immersion in the construction site. From capturing 360° images, it is possible to check and compare different points of the construction in detail as if you were physically present in the construction environment.

In addition to the speed and the feeling of immersion, another highlighted aspect is the possibility of operating this technology in offline mode, requiring internet only for connecting devices and uploading images. The practicality in operation results in generating more productivity and accuracy for monitoring the construction stages.

Capture and image processing systems and equipment have already become some of the main allies during construction processes, as they ensure a much more attractive approach to construction reports.

With the extraction of data in real time and through intelligent algorithms, it is possible to optimize work and bring more productivity and efficiency in decision-making for construction projects.
