A Construct IN, a construtech that offers tools for remote construction management through 360° images, was present at FEICON 2023, alongside the solutions of the Ecossystem Trutec.
This was the 27th edition of the event, which attracted over 102 thousand visitors during the four days. Technology and sustainability were among the main launches of the fair.
Considered the most successful edition, FEICON featured the participation of a thousand exhibitors and brought together retailers - store owners and salespeople -, industry representatives, engineers, builders, and developers, as well as architects and related professionals. This year's fair introduced a series of innovations and a 50% increase in brands.
According to Tales Silva, CEO of Construct IN, “FEICON is the largest construction fair in Latin America, so it has a very large volume of people. It brings together everyone from project managers, directors, CEOs, and field engineers to students and innovation enthusiasts. Thus, the fair enables a diversity of contacts among different types of professionals in the sector,” he notes.
For Silva, what stood out most in this edition of FEICON was the number of exhibitors and the novelties that can only be found at the fair.
“For Construct IN, FEICON is a point of contact both for new clients, due to the volume of people visiting the fair, and for existing clients, who can stop by our booth, have coffee with us, and reinforce commitments for the year 2023,” he states.
The sector has positive expectations for 2024
From the perspective of the CEO of Construct IN, the construction sector has good prospects for the next year. “The construction market begins to heat up from the second quarter of the year. The expectation is that expanding retail companies will start to build and increase their number of projects from May”, he explains.
“The sector is also beginning to heat up with the return of 'Minha Casa Minha Vida', among other current government issues, after these 100 days”, he adds. Indeed, 76% of people believe that the new federal housing program will warm up the real estate market, according to a survey conducted by Elisa Rosenthal.
The analysis also shows that only 20% of participants believe there will be no impact or that the program should not have returned and that only 4% expect a retraction in the sector.
Moreover, 87% of Brazilians dream of owning their own home, according to data from a survey conducted by the QuintoAndar Housing Census in partnership with the Datafolha Institute. According to the research, participants value owning a home more than financial stability, religion, and children.
How is the market preparing for the digital age?
Silva also notes that the construction sector is increasingly moving towards the digital side, understanding that this is part of the process and business as a whole:
“Today, no sector of the economy can survive without digitalization. In construction, companies are understanding that it is part of the daily routine to digitize job sites and create a more digital and automated environment in their projects,” he explains.
The businessman adds that, compared to 2022, companies are becoming increasingly mature and aware of the importance of technologies in construction processes.
“The construtechs - like Construct IN - are very important to precisely promote content and innovation initiatives, bringing technology to a sector that still needs to evolve a lot in terms of digitalization compared to other areas of the market,” he articulates.
Thus, he continues, it is possible to observe the exponential growth of construction startups and the increase in investments: “Today, we see construtechs consolidating investments and doing larger funding rounds”.
For the CEO of Construct IN, the phenomenon signals that the market is increasingly ready to buy and use innovative solutions on a large scale within their projects. “Therefore, construtechs have a huge impact on this digitalization process,” he concludes.
